Artistic photography in Cappadocia

This is an option which allows my clients to get the technically best possible photos. Means that I take responsibility and making goal not just to capture traveller’s visit to Cappadocia, but to make professional photos in the highest resolution with detailed retouching and images ready for printing.

Timing. Duration

This option can be either morning or evening photosesson. In both cases, the duration of the shooting is at least 3 hours and time can be extended until we have a result that satisfies us. On average it takes between 3 up to 4,5 hours. For the evening shooting we pick up clients around 4 hours before sunset, for sunrise shooting usually in 1 hour before sunrise. On the constant question from customers indicate the exact time I want to remind you that the time of sunrise and sunset varies depending on the season. You can just ask Google what time of sunrise or sunset in Cappadocia in a certain month and day of the year.

Locations. Transportation.

All the photoshoots includes transportation. We use a regular comfortable SUV, which can accommodate 5 people, so including the photographer and at least one assistant we can pick up maximum 3 person. There is no limit of locations. We can travel all over Cappadocia and visit as many locations as we need. The only limit we have is a good lighting time. The best time for phootoshoot is 2 first and 2 last hours of the daylight. When the sun is too high, closer to noon, the pictures are always technically worse. This is due to the hard sunlight and the inclination of the shadows on the faces, but these are the technical details that I describe in another article. It is also necessary to know that we are in a hilly area, with narrow country roads, and travel between locations, for example chasing the hot air balloons , is sometimes difficult or takes longer than expected. But on average, in the allotted 3-4 hours of time we visit from 5 to 8 locations.

Ready Images

What means artistic editing? I have enough technical skills to implement any of my or client idea/project on image. So, artistic editing means using detailed editing, retouching, using all power of Photoshop, the software in which I have been working for more than 21 years. What Is possible to do? Remove or add any objects in the photo, change the background, change the shape, for example, make a person thinner or change the position of his hand or foot, change the length of the dress or change the color. But professionalism means the corrections should not be visible as much as possible but looks as much as possible realistic.

I do 10-15 images with editing like this. It takes a lot of time to make carefully, but you see the result. What about terms, I am trying to live without debts but sometimes I can give back this kind of photos in 1 or even 2 month, especially in the end of season. But raw images I am able to give immediately after our photo session.

And there are some examples of hi-end edited images. In most of cases you see fake balloons on the photos and backgrounds from other pictures. But as I said – main goal is to do it looks awesome.

But, keep in mind the fact that outdoors photography, highly dependent on the weather, and in the example of the morning photos in Cappadocia hot air balloons can be too far away and visible only as dots on the horizon. Therefore, the result of simple photo shoots largely depends on our luck. But mainly the most important thing I need is a good light.

Photosession cost

We charge for this photography option 500 euro. Payment can be done by direct bank transfer or cash only after a successful photo shoot in euro, US dollars or Turkish lira at the current rate on the date of the photo session. Unfortunately we can’t accept payments via PayPal, Venmo etc due the restrictions of the Turkish government. Also we don’t charge any deposit for shooting in advance, for convenience of client who can cancel their reservation anytime, and because we can’t refund full amount in case of shooting cancellation, for example due the weather conditions, because we have to pay taxes from the all our incomes. This price also includes all the photoshoot permissions and other expenses, except traveller’s insurance.

Features for groups.

If you have a friend, you are couple, or family up to 3 people – the price of photoshoot does not change. It is advantageous if you order photoshoot with a friend – you can share the total cost of the photo session, but the number of processed photos will also be shared. But it’s worth bearing in mind that the fewer people I photograph in my allotted time, I can focus more on the particular person, which means that the result will be somewhat better.

I do not work with groups of more than 4 people if it is not professional models with experience. Large number of people always has a negative impact on the end result of the photos, and I am not interested in doing work that I will not like myself. The best I can offer to divide the group into 2-3 people, and make shootings on different days. But unfortunately, the cost will be proportional to the number of photo shoots.

• 10-15 deeply edited images, some photos with color correction (10-20 images) + all raw images can be up to 3000 images copied directly from camera to the client’s storage.
• Total price can be shared between 2-3 people.
